Banality of Fear

"Banality of fear" which interests me as a phrase, is a contemporary take-off from Hannah Arendt's famous critique re: "banality of evil" conception and charge of why Nazi extremism was successful in Germany (at least, 1930s-40s). I found this image in a recent article

That aside, one cannot but continue to wonder (in a sense of critical inquiry) why is it that Arendt stood out amongst the thousands of interpreters of the Nuremberg Trial of Eichmann? What was she looking for, in her contrary assessment and analysis--of ideological fascism and totalitarianism? I have my own thesis on this but I highly recommend the film "Hannah Arendt" (2013) https://www.primevideo.com/detail/0IVB3A7WXV8EUT19C2MJLY5EWS/ref=atv_hm_r1Fy1u_1_92
