Me and Linda 721

Here is "Dr. Freud," psychoanalyst at age 6-7. Actually, it's me with my dad's pipe and I am already looking the part of a Freud, don't you think? My sister is the little one listening intently...

I was raised poor working class (going back generations), and this tiny little home at 721- 7 Ave. N. E. still exists. It is pretty run down now, uncared for, as I was there just today taking photos and doing healing memory work from in and around this home in Calgary.

I had so much fun as a kid. I also experienced trauma, and it was our babysitter at this time of my life at 721, who was a teen ager who sexually abused me and my brother Gary. Things like that stay in my memory and have shaped my life. Shame is a big part of what I have to continually work with to overcome (shame, being a deep hurt and fear)... it came from being poor working class and it came from sexual abuse and it came from living in an alcoholic (but functional) family system that goes back generations.
