I like juxtaposing images, creating digital posters as art pieces, that bring in text and satisfy my artistic and aesthetic sensibilities--of course, often I am working out and through "emotional" material and often anger... putting it to constructive use-- this poster speaks to a lot of what has been on my mind lately (yes ,the page on the right is from my journal, where I found this advertisement in a new age magazine).. the old woman drawing is from the late-artist of the Holocaust and WWII in Europe, Kathe Kollwitz..... I just really like these, and to see what they might teach us today about (r)evolution.... and how history is so often forgot, or not even registered across from the old to the new... and, how polarities and binaries still fight on to keep their extreme poles as ways to reference meaning and to perceive and think and act... I like breaking those easy polarities up into deconstructions... all of this working in affective politics... and of course, my critique of the new age/human potential movement and its notions like "spiritual" or "revolution" that are so reductionistic and narrow-minded, still not lived under the skin like we see in the old woman...
