This is a stunning and dramatic event in Canadian politics, certainly fearmongering and "hate"-based--or at a minimum, it sure tarnishes the reputation of Alberta.
p.s. if you don't know what a Canadian is talking about when they use "cross-hairs" it is the lines that cross in the middle in a rifle scope, which you put on your target before pulling the trigger.
p.s.s. now, just imagine what this lady (leader) is telling the children of Alberta and/or Canada or the rest of the world, that it is okay to suggest a peer put a "cross-hair" gaze (or worse) on an opponent that you don't agree with. The violence is subtle, but it is there. I will not let this go without writing a lot more about it as a symbolic (public) move for the conservative Right wing (extremism) that is pouring out its political tactics in the most unethical ways. And, of course, Left or Center politicians (leaders) could just as well have fallen into this kind of violent fear-based rhetoric.
The four figures in the photo (at this event put on by Tucker Carlson as a for-profit event) in Alberta are: left to right - Jordan B. Peterson, Danielle Smith, Tucker Carlson, Conrad Black.
NDP Leader of Alberta, Rachel Notley, prior to the above event, told the news she believes this is a big mistake of Premier Smith, and puts out the wrong message to the world, re: what kind of place Alberta is (and is not): see the video clip short statement by Notley (which I agree with):

One education colleague from Alberta wrote in response to my article on Danielle Smith "Crosshairs" Directive:
“Hi Michael, amazing that our huge embarrassment of a premier ends up with a Yankee! Smith is an...embarrassment. The event you mention was $200 a seat for 4000 sold-out seats. It tells the story of the...[situation]that Calgarians exist with. Having Jesus shoved down our throats, she is now set up to take away our Canadian Pension (exactly like the US Social Security) and move it to manage it with her government. We are appalled....Your piece is great, add to it. Actually Smith is nothing more than a Trump wannabe. The Americans are indeed influencing the Canadian Right.”
I published an article on this Danielle Smith "Crosshairs" Directive in Musers (Lakehead University).
