I just read (scanned) Dr. Nichol's book from 2011, Social Economies of Fear and Desire: Emotional Regulation, Emotion Management, and Embodied Autonomy. NY: Palgrave Macmillan.
She takes an anthropological/sociological approach to the topic of fear and its management, a meta-analytical frame and discourse analysis, and produces a very fine piece of scholarship that all serious fearologists will want to look at and study.
