This recent video of the Dali Lama (of Tibet) is really not anything to be excited about as a break through in how to work with fear/terror in the world. But that's his Buddhist teaching at age 89 to everyone. I wish him a happy birthday, however. He has done much good in the world.
Over the years, I have been critical of everyone, when they go around spreading the teachings about fearlessness and/or merely teachings about fear management (coping) and they tell people who are afraid "Don't be afraid. Relax..." etc. It's so not the way to improve one's fear education; and arguably, it doesn't actually help them with fear. It at best, only creates a dependency on some authority to 'fix' you for the moment with calming words. It doesn't last.
