As careful as this progressive Democrat tries to be in this communique to the public, it is astounding to me how she is fearmongering her way (to keep Joe Biden on the top ticket)...really, what happened to democracy and letting the people decide who is the best candidate to go up against Trump in the 2024 election in Nov.? AOC later in the video tries to argue (unconvingingly) she is not trying to motivate people by fear. Then she carries on and says "politics is insane" --and, by about this time, clearly she is highly emotional, angry, fearful, resentful and hardly level headed about very much in her talk to us all. At this point in her talk she finally discloses (a more close to her) fearmongering frame on the presidency dynamic and the Dems strategizing: for me, she says, "My community does not have the option to lose." She chokes up. She is talking about the people of color, a lot of her constituency, and the threat Trump is throwing around of mass deportation of such people, of which AOC is part of their community, obviously. Rightly, she is more than a little upset and terrified.
And yet, sorry, AOC, you really need to check-up your fear-based motivations (i.e., fearmongering you are denying in this video) that look "rational." It is the fear-based BS that adds to the culture of fear problem in this country and in the political sphere. You just added to it.
