Eliminating Fear via Inclusivity

I see these kinds of posters now and then; this one from SIU campus mail. I think about how these courses on diversity training, cultural awareness/safety, and such, that are quite popular these days because of racism, xenophobia in American society, and I wonder if the call for "inclusion" is going to ever eliminate fear, and some fear theorists, including Desh and myself do not say one has to even try to eliminate fear (it's likely not a good goal). These slogans, for marketing, are superficial to say the least. They are trying to reduce the "fear of the Other" which is a worthy goal, it's too bad they have to use exaggerated marketing language for e.g., "eliminating fear" which is really a false claim, they have no evidence they can do that and it really is false advertising. Let's all not follow this same false superficiality when we are dealing with such a powerful force like "fear"...
