Dante's Locker Room: Dreams and Shadow Talk

I had this powerful shadow, dark, negative dream--and I liked every minute of it. This, I realize is not always the "nice" kind of language and talk that the human potential, new age, peace movements and so on like to have. "Isn't there enough negativity in the world already?", they might say to me so why give negative things (even "fearlessness") more ink, more attention, more value.

Welcome to Dante's Locker Room, a name that came to me for a 'place for fear' (madness, insanity) you could say. But much more than that it is a place for the unconscious (individual and collective), for dreams and dreaming, for the underside, the belly, the groin, or wherever else there are taboos. Of course, I am talking metaphorically as well as literally, in where this place is that belongs because it is. If it is a dream of me being a terrorist, fighting terrorists and blowing up things, whatever, that's also part of the spirit of fearlessness "doing its thing" in dreamworld to work through what needs to be worked through, even if it transgresses taboos. [note: fear research and taboos are intimately intertwined]

Indeed Dante's Locker Room, you could say, is all about transgressions of taboos, for the purpose of working through to a better intergration of shadow (repressed, suppressed) so that we can be healthier and whole, integrated and more than just "nice" and "spiritual".... on and on I could rant with my critique of how so much in (middle class) spiritual circles today, yoga studios, and meditation halls, are so superficial and involve conformity. I am not against any of this or conformity, as long as it doesn't get all the attention and service on the path of enlightenment, or endarkenment, or both.

Dante's Locker Room is a forum idea from this dream I had (and one of many) that are or near nightmares (night terrors), but I am so fully embodied in the dreams (so real), where I am "fighting" the darkest forces of evil, you could say. My St. Michael spirit/archetype--the Sacred Warrior, Magician-Merlin, or whatever). On my journey I've learned to build existential capacity in order to not make such encounters wrong, bad and something to avoid or even transform.

I am a "terrorist," in many ways (we all are), relative to the kind of "nice" bourgeois society we are trying to be--at least, the most politically-correct folks. I am a "liberator," and so are the many terrorists in my dreams that I encounter, maim, kill, and become. I want to know them and their suffering and madness. I want to be with the psychic disturbulence of "ALL" and not only try to be on one-side (the 'Good'). Mostly the underbelly work of my unconscous and our unconscious is a great expression all of it... of performances of necessity... of my anger and rage working out in the dreamland beings, ghosts, the ugly, the mis-fit, disfigured (disabled), the horrifying, paranoia, the traumatic. Such entities and experiences (of Thanatos and Phobos) also are hidden or evident in semi-awake spaces, instincts, impulses, arational and irrational domains, daydreams, or art work, and fantasy. Again, I want a locker room space for people on the FM ning to put this stuff and re-locate its deserved space and existence. Denying its rightful place is where we go wrong and 'feed' its worst dimensions which later will come back to haunt us, big time! It ought to be a space for at least 10% of what is on the FM ning and in our FM communities. I guarantee you this is not usually what is allowed for in current FMs.

I'll leave this at this unfinished initiation, for us "exiles" and those we meet on the road... and as Dante' said in his great literary and mystical work (at some point on the path): "YE WHO ENTER HERE, ABANDON ALL HOPE"... yes, it is a place for hell, before it becomes HELL on earth, you might say, of which we are seeing more and more of lately, if you haven't noticed in all the crises we are facing and the suffering arising. This will not lessen. We have to, eventually on the path of fearlessness, cross the thresholds, at least three major ones that i have documented (theorized)... most of us are so unwilling to "abandon all hope" (replace hope with fearlessness)... because that is a demand of the integral 2nd-'Fear' Barrier that our societies do not even show us exist. Dante' knew this, I'm guessing. In artistic mystical literary dream imaginary, he crafted some visions for us... of course, these are not "fixed" nor the "best" visions, but in Dante's Locker room, there's no need to fight over these things, but let them exist. Learn from all, in that land beyond hope!
